Admission for International Students

 

Admission to Damien High School is granted to international students based on the successful submission of an International Student Admission Packet and all required elements found in the checklist below.

Upon acceptance to Damien High School, the international student will be directed to the SEVIS coordinator for the Los Angeles Archdiocese in order to begin the I-20 process with the United States Department of Homeland Security. Upon completion and issuance of the I-20, international students are able to apply for an F-1 Student Visa at the American embassy in their home country.

          Applications will not be processed until all listed items are received

  1. Application: The Application Fee of $150 is due when you submit your application. Openings may be limited and applicants are encouraged to apply. Students may be admitted during the school year if openings are available. Student applications will be reviewed once all documents and fees are received. ALL FEES ARE NONREFUNDABLE.

  2. Transcripts/Grades:
    • The original transcripts/grades from the past three years.
    • All transcripts must be translated into English.

  3. References: Two references should be submitted using the reference forms provided. Both references should be from teachers or school administration who can speak to the prospective student’s academic performance, English language proficiency, behavior, and his potential for academic success in America.

  4. English Proficiency Test Result Report. The following exams are accepted: TOEFL iBT, TOEFL Jr., IELTS, ITEP-SLATE, Duolingo.

  5. Student Essay: Submit a five-to-six paragraph self-introduction addressing the provided questions.
     
  6. Zoom Interview: A face-to-face interview will be set up between the prospective student and the International Student Program Director after the completed application packet is received.

  7. Copy of Current Passport

  8. Copy of Current I-20 (If transferring)           
                Upon acceptance, you will receive an acceptance letter and an I-20 application packet
