Course objectives: Students will participate in positive, constructive and social physical education environment. Activities will include sports, creative fitness, modified games, comprehension of anatomy, cardio, and muscular strength and endurance activities. Through participation in variety of activities, students will improve fitness, learn health concepts and value the importance of physical activity.
Expected units: Frisbee Golf, team handball, basketball, indoor soccer, baseball, tag games, soccer, flag football, volleyball

Participation- 10 points a week, deductions occur for non-dress, no participation, inappropriate behavior, poor sportsmanship, lack of effort.
Behavior expectations: respect, 1 voice at a time, be on time, establish and maintain positive environment, wasting of class time= taking of personal time
Dress out policy: Damien PE clothes only, athletic shoes with laces, must have socks, no cell phones out in locker room or PE fields/courts (they will be taken away and given to dean) , no watches, and no jewelry.
- if any of these dress our procedures are not followed, points will be deducted from grade Illness and injuries: any student that is sick should stay home. If student decides to attend school ill but feels that is not well enough to participate in PE activities must bring doctor or parent note. No note = point deductions. Any injury needs to confirm through doctor note. If injury is prolonged, student will be given alternative writing assignments that relate to PE to fulfill points.
Locker room rules: 5 minutes to get dressed, 7 minutes to redress, no food or drinks, walk at all times, all valuables must be placed in locker, combination lock only, no sharing of lockers, classroom tone (no unnecessary volume from voice),locker room will be locked down once all students exit, absolutely no re-entry until its time to redress, do not touch others personal items, tone and volume of locker room must always be appropriate.
Lockers will be assigned by teacher requiring name, combination, location of lock.
Behavior consequences: any breaking of PE and locker room rules could result in break, or after school detention, reinforcement of standards, phone call to parent, affect on grade, or alternative assignments.
Basic procedures-
1st occurrence- warning
2nd occurrence- non-participation, possible isolation from activity
3rd occurrence- non participation, detention, phone call home
4 or more- alternative writing assignments, dean detention, 2nd phone call home
